Turning PDF bank statements into clean spreadsheets
A self-serve SaaS that converts PDF bank statements into Excel or CSV in seconds — built for accountants, bookkeepers, and business owners who are tired of retyping transactions.
The problem
Month-end reconciliation, client statement batches, and cash-flow tracking all start with the same tedious step: copying transactions from PDF bank statements into a spreadsheet by hand. It’s slow, error-prone, and a poor use of a finance professional’s time.
The solution
We designed and built MyBankStatementConverter, a web app that converts PDF bank statements into Excel (.xlsx) or CSV files with consistent columns: Date, Description, Debit, Credit, and Balance. Amounts are transcribed exactly as printed — never recalculated — so the output can be trusted for reconciliation.
Key capabilities
- Multi-country bank coverage — statements from banks across the US, the UK, Singapore, Germany, and Indonesia.
- Batch processing — upload a folder of PDFs and download all results as a single ZIP.
- Credit card statements — including separate columns when a statement prints both transaction and posting dates.
- Quality flags — unusual statements are flagged for review instead of silently producing bad data.
- Accounting-friendly output — CSV and Excel files ready to import into tools like Xero or QuickBooks.
Privacy by design
Financial documents demand a careful architecture. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and transaction data never enters the application database — there is simply no transactions table to leak.
A product-led business model
The product is fully self-serve: visitors can try a conversion without signing up, free accounts unlock batch uploads and saved history, and paid plans serve heavier users. Failed conversions don’t count against a user’s allowance — a small detail that builds trust.
What this shows
MyBankStatementConverter is the kind of focused, industry-specific software we help clients build: a sharp solution to one painful problem, privacy built into the architecture, and a business model designed to grow.
